Right panel is too wide for my site. How can I reduce width of right panel ?
there is no way to do this easily. you have to know what you’re doing to modify the graphics, then the code to match it.
Ya ok tell me I will modify the code. Where to change width of right panel ? it is TOOOO wide aesthetically
you have to change the graphics as well. modifying the code will not make it smaller.
I can’t figure out how to put a custom logo. Looking in the header.php there is not the usual: /”> to replace with a reference to my own logo.

New to wordpress, and just downloaded news theme but don’t know how to setup the header menus as displayed in news demo. That is the horizontal menu in header just above breadcrumb area. Help please.
I can’t seem to get the slideshow feature to work. I keep putting in images and saving, but I can’t see them as a slideshow. I like my home page, but can’t seem to get any images to scroll. How can I fix it?

Is there any plan of updating the theme or providing a child theme?
We have an update in the works and shooting for a release within a week or two. A News child theme will come out at some point but no timeframe for that.
That’s cool! I will hold myself from changing the theme. I hope to see some more cool stuff in Option page (say option to add scrip in head tag, ad placement(not through widget),ad placement below post tile or above content, some way to integrate css through option page etc.)

Honestly we probably wont ever include those as theme options in our themes. Why? There’s already plugins that can do that stuff. Our themes are a styled skin and not much more.
However, some themes have many widget areas that would allow you to insert ads above/below posts.
We’re keeping the theme the theme and the functionality to the plugins.
I would like to add ads below title (on single page)..there is no option in it…Is it possible to remove share option at the bottom of the post?
How would I change the header color?

To edit this template just go into your site’s themes folder, under images.
Change the images and upload as you please – to upload a new logo just upload a new logo named logo.png and rename the old logo.
May have to mess around with the style.css sheets for further tweaks though.

I just have one issue.
On my homepage, currently its displaying ALL the news, unlike the demo on your website which is showing one latest news summary & a few titles.
How can I do this? is it a widget I should enable? or perhaps my theme is old?

Hi Serj. It’s a custom page template for the home page. Please go to the support forums and search for the news home page template. We’ve answered this question several times on the forum so a quick look should give you the answer you need :)

It’s a part of the template. Unless you know how to create a child theme and modify template files, it’s a no. There’s no easy way to turn it off.

I like the News theme but the changing the header and logo seems to be too difficult. I think it should be easier to do for busy people who don’t have a lot of time to learn php.

Will this template allow to to play videos right from the home page?
When I try to change some settings in the the widgets e.g. Search and press Save, the settings disappear, and the forms are cleared.
And under News Settings , when I try to change the Footer Settings, and Save the everything is back to default.
Any idea why this is happening?
Is this compatible with BP 1.5?

Ragnar’s problem is solved. It’s due to changing the theme folder’s name. For other questions, please go to the forums.
I registered on teh forums but it won’t allow me to login, says it was sucessful but then tells me i’m not when I try to post a topic. Basicly I would like to know how to remove the text link that acts as the title. I’ve had a good look through header.php and style.css, but to no prevail. I have also glanced through functions.php I can’t find a thing, I’ve been able to add the logo I’d like in its place no problem but just can’t shake that link.
I Like The Theme…But I Am Facing Problem Adding Menus…I F I Add 6 or more menu a peace of my header covers by a white page…so when the problem solve..then it will be more good………..

I have made News my number One in wordpress Theme. I made it the way I want it with a child Theme.

I am using this theme, but concern is about the slide show. can it move by itself and can the caption be a bit smaller. there is this line that runs across the picture can that line reduce. I also try to add my logo at the top where the name is but it never show properly; is there a way i could go around that to make it show. Your help is well appreciated this theme is A++++.

We updated how the comments template work. It doesn’t current functions and visual features. We just needed to update it.
It was working well but I was not comfortable enough with the colors and overall layout. I might consider making it work again if a new version is released. Overall, superb theme for freebies junkies.

I have problems with the loging at top right menu, when i press to log it goes to normal loging, but when i press log after put my user its does not lead to the page you were before entering, but leads by example mysite.com / 1 to mysite.com/1/1, ie repeats the final page and fails because the page does not exist.
how I can fix this?

I am not expert so i must ask a question. I intalled on localhost and see only two options in the theme options panel. Are the all Hybrid themes have option panel like this? No way to customize fonts, sizes, header etc. for non-expert users?

On the menus page, you need to create a new menu, add menu items, save it. On the same page, you need to select a menu for the Primary, Secondary, or Subsidiary area (whichever you’re using) and save again.

This is a great theme. Just one thing- I tried a forum plugin and with the sidebar the text is all messed up. Is there a way to create a template that won’t have the sidebar in it so that it’ll work? Or is there all ready one available that you could give me?
